Lifestyle Support Packages and In Home Accommodation Support

notepad

Parents of children with disabilities and children, who have reached adulthood and are considering moving out of home with supported care, are clients who would most benefit from the Lifestyle Support and In Home Accommodation Support packages.

These funds assist individuals with disabilities to live a regular life in the community. The packages are funded by the Queensland Government and granted to individuals by Disability Services. The funds are used to provide support services to the named individual who has the disability.

Funds assist with disability support staff, who aid the individual to live independently and/or to participate in the community; it also provides support for people with a disability to access public housing in the community.

If you have a disability or know of someone in the community that would benefit from a Lifestyle Support Package, please contact our Manager at the IDSS office, to discuss what may be available for your needs.

Your Life Your Choice

notepad

Your Life Your Choice Host provider model is an arrangement where we support families to whatever extent needed, to assist them, to direct their supports, to the level they feel able.  We believe there are three general options with variances between these, firstly where the family receives minimum assistance from us generally just helping them draw up a plan for supports and the family then directs and administers all their funds.  Secondly, where we work on a plan together some aspects of the plan are administered by the family and other aspects are administered by the organisation and thirdly where a plan is developed with the family and we administer all aspects of the plan.  Changes in arrangements can occur at any time.  Under this model we can provide any support including community access, life skills, accommodation support, respite or a variety of all of these; alternately within the funding guidelines and industrial frameworks any type of flexible supports.
